I am running for the 435th District Court because this Court needs a Judge with experience convicting sexual predators. In creating the 435th District Court, the Texas legislature developed a unique District Court in Montgomery County, Texas. This Court handles violent sexual predators from across the State of Texas. Because of my experience in prosecuting and convicting these offenders in Montgomery County, I am running to become the first Judge of this Court.

I am currently the Chief Felony Prosecutor in the 221st District Court. I am responsible for prosecuting some of our county's most serious crimes. In the last 14 years, I have tried over one hundred jury trial and have prosecuted over five thousand criminal cases. I have tried and convicted murderers, rapists, robbers, and drug dealers, including a life sentence for James Lasseter, who killed Conroe High School football star, Kasey Davis, and most recently, a guilty plea from Michael Dodd, who killed his girlfriend, a well respected CPS worker, by beating her and setting her on fire.

During my tenure at the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, I have convicted numerous violent sexual predators, including Donald Paul Mauro, a school police officer who was sexually assaulting the children he was hired to protect, Richard Guylas, who violently sexually assaulted a young Montgomery County girl, and Wilfredo Vargas, who videotaped his assault of child victims. As a result of my successful trial record with such offenders, I have also obtained numerous guilty pleas from other offenders, including Jason Newsom, a resident of east Montgomery County that was using his "snake farm" to lure children to his home where he would sexually assault them.

I know about sexual predators. I understand the theories underlying the expert testimony in cases involving these predators. I have spoken with their victims, often children, and understand the pain and damage visited by these predators.

I am hard-working, fair and impartial, consistently demonstrating the integrity and temperment essential to public confidence in the judicial system. I am ready to put my experience to work at judge of the 435th District Court: I have had significant training in prosecuting violent sex offenders and the people of this County need a person with a prosecutorial background so that we can be as safe as possible from sexual predators because one more victim is one victim to many.

Montgomery County and The State of Texas need a judge with tough prosecutorial experience to handle these, the most criminal of cases. I am committed to protecting the citizens of our County and State and believe that I am uniquely qualified for this unique Court.
